![]() ![]() Also, once I put the new bearing in, I want to make sure that it is located correctly. I can probably cobble something out which supports the bearing and allows me to pop the shaft off using a rubber mallet but I am wondering if anyone may have a better idea. I have been able to take the motor apart, but as it turns out the rear bearing appears to be pressed onto the shaft which also holds the coils. I am wondering if anyone else has had to replace bearings. I ordered a replacement set from Extreme Flight but it came without instructions. Enough said my friends.Īfter 25 flights I have come to realize that the rear bearing is a little loose. Without getting too specific (because I like Extreme Flight's ARFs), I did purchase and immediately return one motor. One would have to spend twice the price to top this motor with one of the premium motors for F3A models. There is no lack of power with this set-up on my Vanquish. ![]() This is with the Falcon 20.5x14.5 V2 CF and Ice2 80HV with the current firmware and 25C NanoTech 5000s. 70A peaks 2,500W with power to spare (never applied full throttle during the Sportsman sequence, even with strong winds). Just pulled down the data logs from this weekend's pattern contest. What other prop should I try if any?I found this post #1000 from Danamaniaĭoes anyone have any #'s off the Himax motor? I would like to know prop used, amp draw and watts produced. Lets just say, I hope I don't have t take the cowling off anytime soon.īTW, I am starting with a 20.5x14 on the Himax motor. What is that about? lol There must be some trick. Only complaint is the screws that keep the cowling on. Only thing missing from tlhe kit was a spinner which I will fit asap.Looking forward to a maiden this weekend with my 2m vanquish.īuild went smooth, everything looks good. Good value for money? It is £150 in the UK which is a lot for a small model but the quality is good and it flies well. The Vanquish flies very well, pulling a little to the landing gear on knife edge, will need a small amount of mix here. As the weather was fair with around 10mph wind I headed to the field and had three flights, minimum of trim required and very strong performance with unlimited vertical with nowhere near full throttle. ![]() I need to rethink the motor / prop combination. After four hours solid work it was finished, a meter test showed the Hyperion was producing nearly 900 w at full power which is way too much. which saves time, nice quality touches such as carbon rod stringers on the fuselage, carbon U/C and pre-fitted canopy latch, covering and trim very nicely applied. Opened the box at 9am and started work, very easy build or should I say assembly, a few things changed from the Mk1 such as ball links on both ends of the pushrods etc. How much fuel will you burn in that many flights with a nitro plane, and how much will it cost? Without considering the battery cost your looking at about $420 for the Vanquish - same for your nitro one, plus none of the hassles of dealing with fuel, cleanup, etc. Three pack should give you about 50 - 100 flights each before needing replaced, totaling 150 - 300 flights. Plus, in you estimate for the nitro plane you don't include the price of fuel, but that is a real value you have to consider, especially if your considering the price of the batteries for the Vanquish. Add two more batteries for $66 more and your still only talking about $500 total. Then add 4 HS-65MG servos for about $30 each (you don't need digitals) and a Turnigy 2650 mah 4S lipo from HK for $33 and you talking about $450 for it. You can get the plane/motor/ESC from Extreme Flight for $299. You wouldn't have that much in the plane. The price I would pay to get this up and running. It is hard buy electric, when you would have to buy the plane$ Motor-80$ ESC-50$ 3-sets of batteries 150-250$ I would like to be able to fly anytime anywhere,īut when I can just by a glow plane or gas and fly (have all the elctronics, and engines) for 200-400$ ![]()
